Harmony – Burragah Early Childhood Teacher
My name is Harmony and I am the manager and early childhood teacher at Deadly Kindy Burragah.
I’ve been a part of the Early Childhood Education and Learning sector for over 20 years. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching (Early Childhood) and also over 10 years working in management roles.
I absolutely love teaching young children. Being an active learner myself, I love making an impact on the children’s lives; instilling a love for education, culture, wellbeing and also lifelong learning.
I believe the first five years of a child’s life are very important and can impact on the rest of their life. I love that each day is different and that I can help create a brighter future for these jarjums by giving them a great start to life and also education.
It’s also important to us here at Deadly Kindy that we provide a cultural education for our jarjums. Each families’ culture is very important. Working for a Deadly Kindy is a great opportunity for me and also provides the jarjums with the environment and opportunity to learn more about their culture, connect with mob and build a stronger sense of belonging and identity.
I am inspired by the people I work with daily, for different reasons. One of my favourite things about working for ATSICHS and Deadly Kindy is that it’s all about supporting community and inspiring others. I love surrounding myself with people that see the best in any situation and want to help and support others.
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, cooking and being outdoors in nature.
